The Sky Apple is a favaourite haunt of many Veg NE members and has been in business for quite some time.
During the day it’s a busy café serving great breakfasts, lunches, snacks & drinks. On Thursday to Saturday evenings it becomes a restaurant with a full menu that changes monthly. Booking is essential for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. Plenty of vegan options are always available.
We find the food is always a delight, as are the staff & the service.
Prices are reasonable & you can take your own wine, we often do.
The Sky Apple is a haven for Vegetarians & vegans as it’s our only vegetarian restaurant in Newcastle.

We were really pleased to hear that one of Veg NE members, Mike Winstanley, was opening an organic veggie eating place.
Mike, an experienced veggie chef, couldn’t have picked a better location as here you will find beauty & tranquility along with great vegetarian & vegan food.
If this isn’t enough you can also enjoy one of the many courses that are on offer including gardening, environment, wildlife, art, sculpture, textiles, poetry and of course food & drink.

Bob Trollops pub is the only veggie pub we have heard of and very popular with the Veg NE members. Sadly they don’t have any vegetarian beers or wines but we do keep nagging them, we live in hope.
Vegetarians love the food at BT’s as its proper pub food at pub prices & yes they do the odd vegan option too.
Veg NE members meet here at least once a month.

Jack Sprats is a regular meeting place for the Veg NE members as they look after us so well. Its ideal as its spaceous with
comfy chairs & couches along with more than enough tables, a PC and games.
There is an extensive menu catering for vegetarians with many vegan options.
The breakfasts are fantastic and usually there is far too much on the plate.
Lunches & Sunday dinners are great too along with plenty of light snacks & refreshments all priced very well
