We meet on the 3rd weekend of each month & wondering what you lot want to do for this??

I know some of you have been talking about an Indian in South Shields and we could do this for a change? If someone wants to organise it??

Not sure about the "indian" places in shields but plenty other places in the area, but one needs to contact them beforehand to check for vegan choice.

I have found that the majority of Indian restaurants are very accommodating and will use oil instead of ghee if you request them to, or vegetable ghee. Naan bread is usually a no go as they use milk and obviously Korma's etc use milk/cream but the majority of other curries are fine.

OK, pick one and we can go for it. Please be quick.

If we're going to South Shields do we have to go for an Indians? How about the Orangegrass place that TofuPanda suggested some time ago??

i got the idea from Kristi on this site. Heard mixed reviews about this place, not been there myself. Not been to any indian restaurants in shields (why would I? ) but my sister been to a few and she was not impressed (she's a meat eater).

Other places worth trying:
Tavistock Thai-China (roker)
The Rattlers (Marsden) on seafront - italian food
Backwaters in Sunderland (South Indian) - tried their vegan food when they did the catering at music festival last year - very good. But its match day this saturday so personally i would avoid the town/rush. ]

Dunesadvetureland (next to fair)- The Brig bar is starting a buffet each day all day . The management have said if i know when any vegans are coming they will try and put some extra choice on the menu, but need notice. (maybe something to eat during a day out in summer times).

anyway hope the above ideas help..not sure what my plans are this saturday but join in if free.

OK its probably best to cancel this one as it seems to be a bad date.

I would have suggested a walk on Sunday, but I don't like snow !

Suggest one & see who wants to come along. If I can get out I will.

We keep getting these bad weather reports but it hasn't happened yet.
